(Ecofin Agency) - To rapidly expand its audience, Agribusiness TV plans to produce a monthly program which will be broadcasted on traditional TV stations in Africa, both public and private channels. The station also said it would start producing and broadcasting fully mobile-adapted videos. Stories will be shot, edited and broadcasted with mobile phones.
Agribusiness TV is a project of MediaProd, a communication firm that focuses on agriculture and rural development. The web TV promotes and valorizes agricultural and livestock-raising jobs to show youth that it can live off them. The television broadcasts videos of African innovations showcasing those behind them. Here, age is a critical factor: no innovators beyond 40 years old. The emphasis is also put on the specific field of activity of each agricultural entrepreneur.
Seven months after its launch, Agribusiness TV is experiencing issues related to Internet connectivity in Africa, in its rural parts especially. The TV station currently broadcasts on its website, Facebook page and Youtube channel. Stories and interviews are shot in various countries, with as main objective to cover all of Africa.
