(Ecofin Agency) - Africa will soon have its own version of the famous American TV show “Lip Sync Battle” produced by the Viacom Inc group.
The show was launched in April 2015 and was well received by public. Exported across the globe, the show revolves around a song contest between celebrities. One of the show’s stakeholders is the famous rapper LL Cool J. It was him even who via social networks announced the arrival of the show in Africa.
The African version of the show has been named “Lip Sync Battle Africa”. It is a weekly show which will be recorded in Johannesburg, U.S. Broadcasting is to start in April 2016 on MTV which is owned by Viacom and is available on Dstv. It will be broadcasted every Thursday starting from April 14th on MTV and every Saturday staring from April 16thon MTV Base.
The first season of the show includes 13 episodes of 30 minutes each. It will feature celebrities and stars from the entertainment industry. During each episode, 2 celebrities will be singing 2 songs. One song being from an African artist. The winner will be chosen by the audience present at the studio.
