(Ecofin Agency) - Construction of the Bab Ighli site which will host the COP 22 is in its fourth stage, according to those in charge of the project.
“Being at the fourth stage of the project means we still have the ground to cover, pass the cables and the optic fibre through their tubes and trays, and place parquets, one of the project’s leaders said. There is also dressing which has already been designed, which should take few days, partitioning and Moroccan doors to install. Sewers and sanitation facilitations are okay,” he added.
The site which is developed by a consortium led by GL Events for 500 million dirham (around $51.6 million) is divided in two main zones, blue and green. The first which is occupied by the United Nations will host the COP 22 talks while the second will host civic society and innovation space.
The project is to be completed by October 15, 2016, a month before the event begins.
