(AFRICA RISE) - Being the youngest continent in the world with nearly 70% of its population under 25 years old (OECD, 2011), Africa boasts an abundant labour force. These young people are a tremendous pool of talent and innovation. Thanks to their creativity, they are the lifeblood of tomorrow. “That’s why, through our challenge #KinPitch Special Youth, we want to promote creative and innovative projects with high added value” explains Binta Sagna, Communication Director of Africa Rise. ”It is our strong commitment and a will to contribute to the emergence of a dynamic entrepreneurial scene in Democratic Republic of Congo”, she says.
In the innovation category, UPSAIL made the difference.
Ghislain Musaki young tech entrepreneur and founder of UPSAIL, created the startup in 2014. UPSAIL delivers digital services to banking institutions, media and marketing corporations, or any industry that needs a clear digital strategy.
During a four minute pitch in front of a jury of renowned entrepreneurs, investors, and business people from the DR Congo and abroad, UPSAIL made a great impression as a young startup, which can be proud of being one of the 7 winners. It is also a great opportunity to link up with other entrepreneurs, project developers, founders of innovative companies, researchers, civil society actors, public authorities, and students.
The KinPitch Special Youth program is intended as an original solution to support entrepreneurship in the DRC, such as UPSAIL.
In synergy with official partners of this program, #KinPitch offers admission to the Kinshasa International Forum, year-round support by mentors to ensure the success of projects, and a unique opportunity to present projects to Congolese and international entrepreneurs and investors.
