EgyptAir has just received a new Boeing model, the 787-9 Dreamliner. The plane is the third of a 6-plane order with the US manufacturer and it arrived at Cairo airport last June 15.
It is capable of travelling between 14,800 and 15,700 km non-stop, with 20% lower fuel consumption than similar models produced by other manufacturers. It can accommodate between 210 and 330 passengers, depending on the version.
In addition to the 3 other 787-9 Dreamliners it is waiting for, the Egyptian airline ordered 24 Airbus 220/300 and 15 Airbus A320. Indeed, the company is seeking to renew its aging fleet. EgyptAir had already received two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, last March and April, and used them to operate distant destinations such as Washington and Tokyo.
The airline is a member of the Star Alliance network. To date, it serves 70 destinations in nearly 60 countries around the world.
