(Ecofin Agency) - Legal consulting firm Norton Rose Fullbright signed with its Kenya-based homologue Walker Kontos a strategic accord to expand and reinforce its business in East Africa. “We are very happy about our alliance with Walker Kontos as it reflects the strategic importance of Africa in our global activities. Walker Kontos brings unequaled experience in the region, which will reinforce our business in East Africa,” said Donald Dinnie, head of NRF South Africa.
The partnership which officially starts in October 2016 will include support to projects in the finance, energy and infrastructure sectors, merger-acquisitions and access to capital markets. Norton Rose Fullbright is already present in Morocco, South Africa, Uganda, Zimbabwe and Tanzania.
The partnership aims most of all to create a hub from which the firm will better deploy across Sub-Saharan Africa. It should be highlighted that Norton Fullbright is currently in the process of acquiring Zurich Insurance. It also acted as counselor of the Moroccan government in privatization process, which led to the listing in the Casablanca Bourse of port operating firm Marssa Maroc.
