(Ecofin Agency) - Brazil and Congo will reinforce their cooperation in regards to land. This is what came out from a meeting held last Feb 14 between Brazil’s ambassador to Congo, Raul de Taunay, and Congo’s land affairs minister, Parfait Aimé Coussoud-Mavoungou. Through this partnership, Congo will learn a lot from the Southern American country as many of there are many Brazilian companies are operating in Congo.
“We met with Congo’s minister and discussed mutual challenges. As you known, land is as important for Congo as for Brazil. It was a friendly meeting and we will look deeply look at the issues and find solutions that will benefit both nations,” said Brazil’s ambassador, cited by the Agence d’information d’Afrique centrale.
Besides land concerns, the two countries should also reinforce their economic relations. “Congo is a basin just like our Amazonian basin. We have a lot in common in various domains and we will focus on these to improve our bilateral relations,” said the official.
