(Ecofin Agency) - Algeria will make, on the basis of a barrel price of USD 45, oil revenue estimates for the country for 2016, against a price of USD 60 in 2015, according to Hadji Baba Ammi (photo), Deputy Minister in charge of the Budget and Planning, Maghreb Emergent reports.
"The prudential economic and budget policy adopted by Algeria for many years now, will continue in 2016 with a budget bill anticipating a barrel market price of only USD 45", he declared, according to the source.
The 2016 Finance bill of Algeria was approved this Tuesday during a cabinet meeting.
It was drafted, like the 2015 Finance bill, by taking into account the internal and external environment by "anticipating cautious levels for crude oil prices of USD 60 in 2015 and USD 45 in 2016", Hadji Baba Ammi specified, in a declaration to APS.
Algeria is, in Africa, one of the main producers of oil and gas. During the first 8 months of 2015, the average price of crude oil on the market was of USD 56.4, we learn.
