(Ecofin Agency) - Morocco and China have announced entering into an agreement to establish an economic zone in Fès. This aims to boost their bilateral cooperation in various industrial sectors.
The memorandum of understanding which was signed between the investment centre of the Fès-Meknès region and the Chinese association for industrial cooperation, defines this zone as a platform that will attract investments in the automobile, aviation, agriculture, health and renewable energy sectors.
According to Xinhua, the economic cooperation between the two countries has improved considerably since the Moroccan king visited China last year.
The meeting resulted in a series of Chinese investments in the construction and industry sectors. Since then, Chinese citizens have also been exempted of visa to enter Morocco.
