Tokely Justin, the head of Madagascar’s national institute for decentralization and local development (INDD), asked mayors to make further efforts to achieve sustainable land tenure security, L’Express de Madagascar reports.
Speaking during the award of certificates of completion to the land tenure office agents in Vakinankaratra region, the authority stressed that “the communes need agents with the best knowledge in land certification. A land certificate reassures farmers and motivates them to settle in their production activities”.
He further added that in partnership with the agricultural growth and land tenure security project (CASEF), Madagascar trained a hundred land tenure office agents within a year.
