(Ecofin Agency) - In order to fast-track the development of key projects in the country, the government of Togo has put in a place a presidential cell to implement and monitor these projects.
In this framework, authorities requested the collaboration of the Tony Blair Institute which was founded by the former British Prime Minister. The latter in fact recently visited with Togo’s President Faure Gnassingbe, the Northern part of the country to know about populations’ needs, private initiatives and get acquainted to local realities. Tony Blair and his team had already, on many occasions, visited Lomé to conduct studies.
In actual facts, the Tony Blair Institute will train young Togolese talents and get involved in major investment projects, the implementation of reforms aiming to improve business climate and insure the operationalisation of the recently created presidential cell.
The final objective of the programme is to create thousands of adequate jobs over the next five years across the economy’s various productive sectors.
