(Ecofin Agency) - After the South Western region in 2012 and 2014, it is the turn of Cameroon’s central and Southern region to be the recipients of the Telcar Cocoa, local dealer of international firm Cargill, training program for producers of certified cocoa.

Telcar Cocoa’s objective for extending its “Cocoa Sustainability Venture” to these regions is the training of 10,000 new producers of certified cocoa, through the implementation of 334 training sessions in the previously mentioned regions.

Under the direction of Telcar Cocoa, the output and quality of the cocoa produced in these areas should considerably improve. In fact, credible sources revealed that through this program which teaches cocoa producers better culture practices, some cocoa farms in the South Western region have already had their output raised from 400 to 1,000 Kg per acre.
