Nigeria now exporting vegetables to the U.K.

Wednesday, 10 May 2017 18:52

(Ecofin Agency) - Nigeria has started exporting vegetables to the United Kingdom. This was disclosed by Vincent Isegbe, Coordinating Director of the National Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS).

Expressing himself regarding the development, the official said: “currently, we have been able to introduce vegetable exports. Initially, it was done in a disorganised manner”.

Isegbe explained that before the products are sent abroad, NAQS conducts pest crop surveys to insure that they are conform to the standards of importing countries. “The report of the survey, if successful, will be sent to that country you are exporting to so that they can rest assured that you are not exporting pest infected crops,” he said.

In this framework, M. Isegbe urged all producers interested in exporting vegetables to register with his service.
