Tuesday, 14 June 2016 13:17

(Ecofin Agency) - Has the Ivorian Cocoa and Cashew Council (CCA) finally ended its story with Malamine Sanogo ? That is the question that emerges as it has appointed Adama Coulibaly as interim director general.

Previously deputy director general in charge of cotton, Mr Coulibaly comes to replace Malamine Sanogog who was relieved of his position on May 26, 2016 after an audit conducted by Deloitte revealed that FCFA5 billion might have been embezzled under his management. Questioned on the case, the minister of communication and government’s spokesperson, Bruno Koné, said: “investigations are ongoing and once final reports are delivered, we will take the necessary measures

As Cote d’Ivoire rose as the world’s top cashew producer, with more than 730,000 tons produced annually, the industry has turned into a true battlefield for various factions that fight for its control.
