(Ecofin Agency) - The African Bank of Development (AfDB) has just announced that it had awarded a loan of approximately €115 million (USD 132 million) to Morocco. This financing will go to Plan Maroc Vert, the institution which recently welcomed Akinwumi Adesina at its head indicated.

The investment sanctions the success of this initiative which, since its inception in 2008, aroused admiration throughout the continent. The program, with an annual investment of over €900 million, will be extended until 2020. Its aim is the creation of 1.5 million jobs in the kingdom while increasing agricultural income two to threefold.

The French media Jeune Afrique recalls that it is not the first time AfDB supported this program as in 2012, the institution had given €105 million to this program.
