Monday, 17 October 2016 14:03

(Ecofin Agency) - Lychees exports in Madagascar this season could start than in the last one, since the current season began earlier than expected, Freshplaza said.

According to the nation’s officials, volumes exported should stand at 18,000 tons.

According to technicians, the fruits have good features and loading this year should beat last year’s. Though date to commence export is yet to be set, officials say it may be between November 10 and 12, 2016, thus a week earlier compared to 2014 and 2015.

Madagascar which exports yearly between 17,000-18,000 tons of lychees, forecast for the last season an output of 20,000 tons, Freshplaza said.
