(Ecofin Agency) - After a positive year in 2015, Moroccan firm Dari Couspate now eyes expansion. With a turnover of 525 million dirham (+18.9%) for a net profit of 38 million dirham (+52.7%), the company said it plans to inject 50 million dirham (€4.5 million) in the expansion of its factory in Salé.

According to the firm, “construction will start in this first quarter”. With this, it intends to reinforce its position as leader of the Moroccan couscous market as competition rises, spurred by Forafric, Tria, and Dalia. The first two merged at the beginning of the year into Forafric-Tria, a firm with 1,000 employees and a consolidated turnover of about two billion dirham.

Listed on the Casablanca stock exchange since 2005, Dari Couspate has as majority shareholder, the Khalil family.
