Côte d’Ivoire: Compagnie fruitière to inject 7 billion FCFA in the banana industry

In Côte d’Ivoire, Compagnie Fruitière just announced it plans to launch a project for production of organic bananas.

The French firm, through its new Vice-President Africa, Jean-Marc Gravillini, revealed its project to establish 400 acres of plantations in the Northern and Southern parts of the country. About the financing, the executive stated that “it represents a potential investment of 7 billion FCFA partially funded by the European Union”.

With this investment, Compagnie Fruitière who is the leader in fruits production in the Africa-Caribbean-Pacific zone, will strengthen its position on the Ivorian market which is the first banana producer on the continent.
