(Ecofin Agency) - Société Africaine de Plantations d’Hévéas (SAPH), number 1 of the Ivorian rubber market, has inaugurated last Friday, in the Bongo locality, in the South-Comoé region, a new natural rubber production factory, commodafrica reported.

With an annual capacity of 60,000 tons of rubber, the plant required an investment of CFA8 billion and is one of the biggest of its kind all over the African continent.

Founded in 1956 and privatized in 1994, SAPH is owned by the Ivorian agro-industry group SIFCA, since 1999.

Specialized in the production, acquisition and processing of rubber into centrifuged latex and compact pellets, the firm has made a turnover of CFA112.96 billion in 2016.

Its production units are located in Toupah, Yacoli, Rapides-Grah and Bettié.
