Friday, 25 September 2015 13:50

(Ecofin Agency) - Heineken and CFAO announce today the creation in Côte d’Ivoire of a joint-venture Brassivoire for the production and marketing of beer in the country. This new company has a shareholding structure of 51% for Heineken and 49% for CFAO.

This new brewery, equipped with the state of the art technologies, will be the first establishment in the new industrial area PK24 at the North of Abidjan. The two partners will invest FCfa 100 billion, equivalent to € 150 million. The brewery will have a capacity of 1.6 million hectolitres per year. The plant will produce, among other brands, Heineken® beer for the national market. The first beer bottle should be available by beginning 2017.

With this significant investment, the arrival of Brassivoire should generate the creation of 700 direct jobs and necessitate the support of 40,000 indirect jobs, as part of the economic development of Côte d’Ivoire
