Tanzania: Moroccan OCP signs MoU Tanzanian Fertilizer Company

Tuesday, 25 October 2016 19:39

(Ecofin Agency) - In Tanzania, the Office Chérifien des Phosphates (OCP) group and the Tanzanian Fertilizer Company signed yesterday a memorandum of understanding to develop agriculture and fertilizer industry in the east African nation.

The accord was signed during a visit by Morocco’s leader, agrimaroc.ma revealed. It states that OCP is enabled to provide fertilizer to Tanzania at competitive prices, and support the nation in development and research segments. The efforts will focus on developing fertilizers adapted to Tanzania’s soils and crops. Also, the two parties emphasized on improving the country’s fertilizer-distribution network.

It should be recalled that this agreement comes after a similar one signed between OCP and Rwanda that aims at developing a fertilizer blending unit in the country.
