Tuesday, 26 April 2016 15:50

(Ecofin Agency) - Morocco was the one to profit most from the crisis between Russia and Turkey, following the taking down of a Russian military aircraft by Turk army in 2015. Truly, due to the embargo on imports of Turk food products, the Cherifian kingdom was able to gain more markets shares.

According to a report from RBK, Morocco is now Moscow’s biggest tomato and orange supplier. The kingdom’s market shares reached 55.6% for citrus and 30.2% for vegetables. Moreover, one out four commercialized fresh tomatoes in Russia comes from Morocco.

However, Morocco intends not to remain at that. Moroccan Citrus Export Association in this framework revealed that it plans to triple exports to Moscow, by 2018.
