Monday, 27 November 2017 15:38

(Ecofin Agency) - Belgium-Brazil firm AB InBev will spend overall $250 million to build a new brewery in Nigeria.

The infrastructure will be located in Sagamu, Ogun State, in the South Western region. It will start operations next year and will be the largest brewery of the group in Africa, excluding its facilities in South Africa.

Through this investment, the firm will introduce in Nigeria the Budweiser, one of the most expensive beers in the world.

Let’s recall that AB InBev plans to merge its subsidiaries International Breweries, Pabod Breweries and Intafact Breweries, into a single entity named International Breweries Plc which will be listed as such on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).

In Nigeria, AB Inbev’s portfolio regroups the following brands: Hero, Trophy, Eagle, Grand Malt and Castle Lager.
