The Ivorian press is awaiting the arrival of a new member entitled "La Tribune Ivoirienne" (The Ivorian Platform). The general news daily will be available in the stands from 31 August 2014. The new newspaper will be edited by the company A+ Média. The concept of the newspaper was explained during a press conference hosted by the General Manager of A+Média, Amos Behonao.
"La Tribune Ivoirienne" will be a daily in tabloid format, with 12 pages. Its motto has already been found: "News has no colour". The emphasis will be put on big journalistic genres, including reports, investigations, big interviews, said Amos Behonao. He also announced features.
He promised that the subjects dealt with will have a social dimension; the objective being to promote good governance, social and economic development, Human Rights and Fundamental Rights. This, according to him, will be the "trademark" of the newspaper.
Amos Behonao then added that: "Our arrival in the newsstands should, indeed, reveal itself through the design as well as through the information processing, writing style and analysis. Our choice was not made at random, but came from a strong will to play according to the rule book this noble profession without bias or passion."
Amos Behonao is a former member of the Maison de la Presse d' Abidjan. He has also been president of the National Union of Journalists of Côte d'Ivoire (UNJCI). The future newspaper boss said he surrounded himself with a team of 10 journalists, in addition to correspondents inside and outside the country.
