Startimes Media Côte d’Ivoire SA, Akwaba Tele SA and Tv-Com Côte d’Ivoire SA have joined the list of satellite-TV operators in Cote d’Ivoire.

The approval of these channels is not part of the plan for the establishment of free aerial TV, for which a call to offers will be later launched, Ivorian High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA) said in a statement cited by Fraternite Matin.

The examination of submissions to call to offers was done by a commission established by the law n°2004-644 of December 14, 2004, on the legal regime of audiovisual communication. As a result, the three applicants were authorized by government by the “Decision N° 2016-001/HACA of February 26, 2016, to operate in Cote d’Ivoire cable-TV and radio-television broadcasting services,” HACA added.
