The Cameroonian Head of State, Paul Biya, officially received at the presidential palace Stéphane Fouks (photo), vice-president of the communications group Havas, owned by Vincent Bolloré, the French businessman. The tête-à-tête on 29 September 2015 examined communications in Cameroon in order to position the country on the financial markets and thus foster its economic development.
The audience between President Paul Biya and Stéphane Fouks lasted 90 minutes according to Cameroonian Presidential services. After the discussion, the vice-president of Havas told the press that the communications group would ensure the international promotion of Cameroon in order to make the country's economic strengths profitable.
Thus, at the beginning of the year 2016, Havas will organise an international investors’ conference in Cameroon which will provide the occasion to discover the successes and economic projects in the country. The objective is to push the international investors, financial investors and industrialists to provide funds to develop agriculture, raw materials and industry in the country.
According to Stéphane Fouks, we need to highlight the advantages that Cameroon offers: "a rare stability in the region, a diversified economy which better resists falls in the prices of raw materials and oil, a young, educated, dynamic population and good domestic consumption".
This is not Stéphane Fouks' first experience in Cameroon. In 2010, the international conference "Africa 21", was held in Yaoundé, the Cameroonian capital, on the new political and economic challenges in Africa. Several Heads of State or government took part in this meeting. Cameroon had thus given an international dimension to the celebration of its 50th independence anniversary.
