Tuesday, 01 December 2015 22:15

As a preparation for the China-Africa Summit which is to be held in South Africa on 4-5 December 2015, a media summit is to take place this December 1st. This is an initiative of the Information Office sponsored by the council state of the People’s Republic of China, and co-organized by the Chinese group StarTimes and the South African group Naspers.

Under the theme "a new win-win era of cooperation between China and African media", The China-Africa Media Summit has for main objective to facilitate trade and strengthen existing partnerships. Participants are representatives of various media (print, radio, television and news agency) and other organizations operating in the sector. About 43 African countries’ delegations will be present at the event.

The two companies which are co-organizing this event are very impressing. The South African group Naspers has become a global major in the communication and e-commerce sector. The company valued at $ 63.3 billion is now invested in video on demand. As for the Chinese group StarTimes it is definitely installed in Africa where it provides services in 28 countries.

Ecofin Agency provides daily coverage of nine key African economic sectors: public management, finance, telecoms, agribusiness, mining, energy, transport, communication, and education.
It also designs and manages specialized media, both online and print, for African institutions and publishers.
