In Africa, Showmax and MultiChoice are merging. This was disclosed to the two companies’ staff on September 1, 2017, by Imtiaz Patel, CEO of video entertainment at Naspers, parent company of these firms.

Subsequent to this decision, Showmax is now available on DsTV and MultiChoice subscribers will be able to access its offers using their connected DsTV Explora decoders.

“We’re looking at opportunities for DStv and Showmax to work more closely on digital entertainment products to the benefit of both sets of customers. There’s no specific details to share at this point,” a Showmax representative told htxt africa.

Let it be recalled Showmax offers outside Africa were so far not covered by MultiChoice.
