In Algeria, there will be legal proceedings against the TV station El Watan for "attack on state symbols and the Republic". Here is the reason found by the minister of Communication, Hamid Grine. He made the announcement this 7 October 2015 during a Forum organised by the daily El Moudjahid.
Indeed, the broadcast of an interview of Madani Mezrag, former Head of the Islamic Salvation Army (AIS), the armed group created by the Islamic Salvation Front (FIS), is held against this private TV station. Until 2000, this political party still sought power in Algeria and thus that of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika. Madani Mezrag disagrees with the Head of State. On 28 September, in his message on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Charter for National Peace and Reconciliation, Abdelaziz Bouteflika repeated that Madani Mezrag could not create a political party as required by this Charter.
This 3rd October on El Watan TV airwaves, Madani Mezrag warned the President of the Republic in these terms: "The President is in a state which does not allow him to make decisions. He has already made mistakes about us in 2009 in a speech at Oran. Our response was very strong and, today, the President is repeating the same mistake. Whatever the party or adviser behind this, he is forcing us to respond with virulence. We will remind him of our response in 2009, and if he does not revise his position, he will hear from me what he has never heard before".
