As a result of a study conducted by the Royal Institute of Strategic Studies (IRES) and “Reputation Institute” international firm, Morocco has been revealed how the world and its citizens see it in terms of admiration, respect and trust. The country was noted 53.7/100.
The study intends to show a “global picture of Morocco in regards to its reputation in 2015”. Out of 70 countries in the report, the Christian kingdom ranked 36th. Details reveal that the nation is more appreciated in far countries. Truly, Russia, USA and Australia were the ones to hype the country more. Spain and Italy however despite being on the opposite Mediterranean shore were the ones to give Morocco the poorest grades.
Fields where Morocco obtained its highest reputation grades were natural environment, residents and tourists’ safety, hospitality or lifestyle. However, the perception is less favorable when it comes to technology, innovation, educational system or institutional and political environment.
In this study Moroccans also give their opinion concerning their nation. They are more critical about transparency and ethics, effective use of resources, technology and innovation or educational system. Moroccans go so far as to recommend foreigners to not come study in their country. Still, they remain attached to this country as many of them expressed their intentions to invest, live, work, visit, buy its products or be a part of its events.
