In Guinea, the High Communication Authority (HAC), amid crisis taking place for some months now, removed its President, Martine Condé, on March 23. 9 out of the 11 commissioners of the authority removed the President and appointed on March 26 El Hadj Abdoul Rahomy Bah, oldest member of the team, as interim President.
According to the commissioners, Condé was removed for the following reasons: No plenary meeting has been held since January 6 despite commissioners insisting; also, the President’s decisions were judged as one-sided and violating HAC’s regulation.
This led to a dialogue of the deaf establishing between Martine Condé and commissioners. Moreover, she provided no answer to the demand regarding internal audit of HAC’s accounts affirming money would not be wasted just to satisfy a few commissioners.
HAC’s crisis went beyond internal. Indeed, rapporteur Joachim Baba Millimono who is now being investigated for forgery and falsification of records. Martine Condé filed a complaint against him for violating internal regulation.
