In the fight against the Ebola epidemic in Guinea, one of the concerns of the World Health Organisation remains this: “how to make available to the general public the information based on evidence and help to relay the good information”.
This explanation was given by the WHO representative in Guinea, Dr Mohammed Belhocine. He highlighted the importance of good mass communication in the fight against the Ebola fever. Hence the workshop organised to formulate a media plan. The discussion was led by various media professionals and the WHO communication expert, Rodrigue Barry. The issue is about maintaining and strengthening the dialogue between health professionals and those in charge of collecting, analysing and broadcasting the information to the populations.
“We are also open to all suggestions coming from you. I see you as our partners”, insisted Dr Belhocine. And his deputy, Mr Mamoudou Harouna Djingarey, added: “we have to work together with full interdependency and produce useful communication, as we have a common goal which is to fight against the Ebola virus”.
The work groups enabled the media professionals to make proposals for the development of a media program aimed at promoting WHO actions.
