(Ecofin Agency) - In French-speaking sub-Saharan Africa, 12.1 million people listen to the radio daily. This figure was revealed by Kantas TNS in its research Africascope 2018, published August 29, 2018.
The research surveyed the audience in main towns in Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Mali, DRC, Congo and Senegal.
According to this research, at least 65% of this population are aged above 15 and listen to radio for about 1.36 hours daily.
There are however important inequalities. In Mali, about 90% of the audience listen to radio daily while in Burkina Faso, only 44% of the audience surveyed said they listen daily.
Another interesting fact is that 59% of the audience listen to the radio on their cell phones.
