In Kenya, the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum has demanded for the submissions of expressions of interest to evaluate and determine the credibility of the South Lokichar field development plan (FDP) presented by Tullow Oil & its JV partners at the end of 2015.
The ministry through the World Bank funded Kenya Petroleum Technical assistance project also plan to improve its capacity to assess the FDP.
Under the expression of interest, the scope of the tender will include the review of the sub-surface development model, well and reservoir management strategy as well as the reduction plan and the screening plan of the sub-surface development scenario.
The consulting firm that fits the criteria and gets the tender will also determine how the reservoir and operational data of the initial oil pilot scheme is being used, in order develop the best development concept. The company will also assess of the commercial terms and conditions in order to advise if the government’s interest has been addressed.
It is also the responsibility of the selected firm to review whether the timeliness set by the government and the IOCs is accurate, address suspicions and risks as well as evaluate the risk management strategy at the same estimating the environmental, health, social and political effects of the project.
However, interested companies are to submit their interest by September 22, 2016, Oil news Kenya reports.
