(Ecofin Agency) - Totalgaz just signed a contract with KayaGas to buy its storage, filling and distribution assets. Under this agreement, KayaGas, is to continue import of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in the country.
Whilst the agreement is awaiting approval by the South African Competition Commission, Totalgaz’s Managing Director, Vincent Scarmure, said: “it is an exciting opportunity to provide our products and high-quality services to a wider client base.”
Also, Lulamite Xate, chairman of KayaGas said that his company has “proven that it is possible to supply the low-income market and also developed innovative means of supplying domestic and commercial customers”.
“Under a new name, we will concentrate on ensuring that periodic shortages of LPG will no longer plague LPG consumers,” he told Petroleum Africa.
