Indonesia's President Joko Widodo plans to hold a meeting with the government of Algeria soon.
According to the head of Indonesia's state oil company on Thursday, the meeting is aimed at the country buying a stake in an oil-producing block in Algeria.
"We're talking with them about which blocks we're interested in acquiring," Dwi Soetjipto Pertamina's chief executive said.
He added that the meeting is to occure when the President visits the country by early 2016.
However, Syamsu Alam, Pertamina's director of upstream operations, stated that discussions are already ongoing between a team from the company and Algerian state-owned oil company Sonatrach, concerning the matter, E&P News reports.
