The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has discredited recent reports of reduction in the price of petrol from N87 to N57 per litre.
The Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Mr Ohi Alegbe in a statement said that the report was false and deceiving, adding that such reports should be ignored.
The statement also revealed that the Group Managing Director of NNPC, Emmanuel Kachikwu, members of the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) and the Depot and Petroleum Products Association, (DAPPMA) are working to ensure that would not be any fuel queues across the country ahead of Christmas.
NNPC and important downstream operators will work together to destroy all hindrances to the free flow of petroleum products in Nigeria, Dailypost reports.
According to the statement, the government of Nigeria is also willing to put all measures in place so that the public does not suffer scarcity of petroleum products.
Kachikwu however in the statement vows to work closely with other Federal Government agencies to ensure that outstanding debts are paid to Oil marketers.
