Tony Attah (photo) has been appointed as the managing director and CEO of Nigeria LNG, the operator of the Bonny export plant.
He is to replace Babs Omotowa, who has been managing the company since December 2011.
Attah was the managing director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production before
returning to Nigeria LNG after serving as senior projects advisor at Shell, working in the Netherlands and Singapore.
Between 2005 and 2007, Attah controlled the Soku gas plant as asset supervisor and operations manager of the previous NLNG gas supply and also the NLNG train 3 construction works. Altogether, he brought 28 years of experience in the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
Upon the assumption of the position, Attah will be responsible for preserving the company’s performance and progress with NLNG’s expansion plans while Babs Omotowa will return to Shell International’s headquarters in Hague, Netherlands.
NLNG is a joint venture between Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, (NNPC) with 49% interest, Shell with 25.6% interest, Total with 15%, and Eni with 10.4% interest, LNG World News reports.
