The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co. (EGAS) has revealed that the country is currently planning to offer a global tender for 11 oil and gas exploration blocks in the Mediterranean Sea and Nile Delta in 2016.

According to the head of the head of EGAS, Khaled Abdel Badie, the country is to also sign three new contracts worth $500 million for Mediterranean developments.

However, as part of its Household Natural Gas Connection Project, EGAS plans to supply gas to 1.2 million domestic consumers in 2016 to 2017, Interfax reports.
