Sirius Petroleum has signed a contract with Schlumberger for the provision of an integrated services management (ISM) at the Ororo field, offshore Nigeria.
According to the company, the contract with Schlumberger is for a multi-well campaign, which will start in the first half of 2017.
The contract covers a drilling program on the Ororo field, situated within the Oil Mining Lease (OML 95), and can be extended to include other potential offshore assets.
Under the contract, Schlumberger is to provide Sirius with a package of managed and integrated products and services comprising of directional drilling services, logging, completion and production fluids, cementing and pumping services, well intervention and stimulation products and services, well testing services, wellsite communications and data and software solutions.
The Ororo field was discovered in 1986. It is situated in shallow waters offshore Ondo State in water depths between 23 ft and 27 ft, Offshore Energy Today reports.
In July 2016, the partners on the Ororo field were granted a three-year extension to the licence by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
Guarantee Petroleum holds a 55% participating equity interest in the Ororo field while Owena Oil & Gas holds the remaining 45% interest. Sirius Petroleum is there as the technical and financing partner in the development of the Ororo field.
