Thursday, 23 June 2016 10:05

Ghanaian Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah (photo), has announced that the cabinet has approved a gas master plan anticipated to guide the country’s gas industry from 2016 to 2040.

According to the Minister, the plan will put the country back on the road to industrialization.

I am happy to announce that just last week, cabinet gave approval for the Gas Master Plan; a plan which we have been working on for some time now. The plan contains projections of the country’s demand and supply as well as the infrastructure requirements needed to realize these projections. We believe we are on the right track in using gas not only to power our thermal plants but ultimately to create the quantum leap in industrialization and create jobs that has eluded us for so long,” he said.

He added that the plan is to be followed by a Gas Policy and a Gas Act which will guide Ghana into the production of indigenous gas, News Ghana reports.
