Victoria Oil & Gas Plc, on Thursday, announced that it has appointed an existing member of the Board, Ahmet Dik, as the new Group CEO.
Aside being an existing member of the board, Dik was also the Chief Executive Officer for the Company's solely owned Cameroon subsidiary, Gaz du Cameroun S.A (GDC).Ahmet Dik has been involved in development of both Victoria Oil & Gas Plc and GDC business. He directed the team to obtain the ENEO grid power supply contract in 2014 and in the last 7 months, has controlled the significant progress in gas sales as the CEO of GDC.
He also secured the transfer of the 1,235km² Matanda block to Victoria Oil & Gas as well as the design and planning phase of the 2016 drilling programme.Subsequent to the gas sales progress in Cameroon in the past 18 months, Victoria Oil & Gas is looking to develop its integrated gas supply network via an extensive expansion programme.New thermal markets are being extended by the current network expansion on the Bonabari shore and two new gas wells at Logbaba are to be drilled soon.
Based on a satisfactory well test results, a plant expansion programme will also be concluded. The transfer of the Matanda block which was finalized in Q2 of 2016, also offers the Company a significant onshore block, close to the existing operations expected to be developed for future gas supply.

What we have achieved in terms of monetizing gas supply in Cameroon and delivering it to a domestic market has been remarkable. We shall continue to focus on maintaining reliability, consistency and quality of product. We intend to increase our gas reserves and production supply to meet the large demand for cheaper, clean and convenient energy in Cameroon,” Ahmet Dik told ADVFN news.
