Thursday, 01 March 2018 17:18

Denham Capital Management LP, a British private equity company plans to invest $250 million in energy projects in Africa.

In this regard, the company partnered with the Moroccan firm Neo Thermis, which is currently developing renewable energy and gas-fired plants estimated at about 400 MW across the continent. The projects include a solar plant (50 MW) in Nigeria and a hydroelectric dam (44 MW) in Côte d’Ivoire. Furthermore, the company also wants to expand activities to Madagascar and Kenya.

We work in emerging markets where there’s a real need for more power. Africa is a great example of this, there is so much capital looking for good projects in Africa. It’s definitely a seller’s market.” said Scott Mackin (photo), head of Denham’s power team.
