(Ecofin Agency) - In Morocco, Bab Ighli, the village which will host from November 7 to 18, 2016, the COP22 is 98% complete. The 300,000 m² site which will receive 20,000 delegates from 196 countries has been delivered in most part.
It comprises 55 tents mounted in less than three months and divided in two zones. The Blue Zone administrated by the United Nations and which has been designed in respect with the organization’s protocols. It regroups all meeting and negotiation spaces as well as two restaurants positioned along a lane bordered by gardens.
The Green Zone which is reserved for Innovations and Civic Society. Here, stands that will receive various exhibitors are at the moment being mounted in the two tents reserved for them. Last works, excluding stand mounting, are to finalize details regarding outdoor layout.
Behind the development of Bab Ighli is a consortium led by GL Events. The site whose cost is estimated at $51.6 million was initially expected to be completed on October 15, 2016.
