Egyptian government preselected 100 local companies to participate in the construction of  Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant (6,000 MW) which will be implemented by Russian company Rosatom.

According to Daily News Egypt, the list includes companies, active in electricity, consultancy and construction that have relevant experience in government-led electricity projects.

Arab Contractors, Orascom, Hassan Allam, Elsewedy Electric, Falcon, Petrojet, ABB Transformers and Schneider Electric Egypt are a few companies on this list.

The companies chosen will be selected by an interdepartmental committee made up of representatives of the Ministries of Military Production, Electricity, Defense, Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Trade and Industry, as well as public institutions in the nuclear sub-sector.

This committee will also steer the project and coordinate with the Russian side. Let’s note that Russian experts are already carrying out site studies of which results will be assessed by the committee before the project will be launched.
