SkyPower, one of the world leaders in the development of solar plants, signed an agreement with Djibouti on the installation of solar plants of a global capacity of 200 MW. These plants will be set up in four phases spread over four years.
They will have an estimated cost of USD 440 million including social responsibility investments of USD 11 million. These social projects will help improve the daily lives of the population in terms of education, training and investment in research and development.
“Through this commitment, SkyPower will work hand in hand with the Republic of Djibouti to develop the renewable energy industry and support the economic development of the country” stated Kerry Adler, CEO of SkyPower.
“We are participating in the reduction of the dependency of the country on energy imports by significantly increasing its production capacity. Our investment will create environmental jobs while ensuring the supply of a clean energy to the populations” declared Charles Cohen, Deputy Executive Director of SkyPower.
