R20, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s (picture) foundation, will finance a biomass power plant in Ivory Coast, according to Governor Augustin Thiam.

Thiam said the initiative whose pilot project will be developed in Yamoussoukro, “provides a sustainable solution to the issue of garbage dumps”, in the country. 

Besides generating electricity for the nation, the project is also good news for its health sector, through the sanitization of the environment. It should help reduce malaria and dengue cases, among others, in the capital city.
