The solar power solution provider officially entered Ivory Coast. “Today, the mobile energy revolution arrived in Cote d'Ivoire. Families and businesses across the country now have access to affordable solar electricity. We are honored to bring our technology here, and we look forward to working with the Government and stakeholders to increase energy access for all Ivorians,” said Stephane Abrahams, CEO of Lumos Côte d’Ivoire.

The firm has arrived on the continent via Nigeria in 2016, where it has already supplied power to 250,000 people. In Nigeria, it has created over 1,100 jobs.

Lumos’ solar kits can be paid with mobile phone credit. The firm has in fact, entered into partnership with MTN which has a customer base of about 10.5 million people all over the nation. The kits will as a result be available for purchase in the operator’s sales point and agencies across Côte d’Ivoire.

Côte d’Ivoire has an electrification rate of 40%.
