Morocco: Enel, Nareva and Siemens about to establish 850 MW of wind farms

Monday, 14 December 2015 19:50

Italian Enel Green Power is the lowest bidder in the 850 MW wind project in Morocco. This was revealed to Bloomberg by an anonymous source.

The group was preselected with five others preselected by ONEE for the construction of five wind farms generating a total of 850 MW. It submitted under a consortium including Moroccan Nareva Holding and Siemens Wind Power.

The various farms are to be commissioned between 2017 and 2020. They will help the country achieve its objective to implement 2 GW of renewable energies by 2020.

Enel, Italy’s biggest energy producer is extremely interested in developing energy infrastructures on the continent. The firm is already present in South Africa where it is building wind and solar plants but also in Kenya where it is establishing mini-grids.
