Tuesday, 16 January 2018 18:14

Jovena, subsidiary of the Axian group in Magadascar, has commissioned two power plants whose combined generation capacity is estimated at 76 MW. In details, the capacity of these two plants named Noor 1 and Noor 2 is 48 MW and 28 MW respectively. Their construction cost $80 million and thanks to them, 35,000 households will have access to electricity.

450 people were employed during the construction which has been launched at the end of 2015. Both plants were valued at $80 million. “We are proud to achieve this ambitious project which will provide Malagasy with efficient power. The energy revolution of Madagascar has just started”, said Hassanein Hiridjee (picture), CEO of Axian group.

Indeed, the construction of these two facilities falls in line with the group’s investment strategy which is aimed at contributing to the development of the electricity sector, started by the government. For this purpose, the company will also construct a 110 MW hydroelectric plant in Toamasina.
